Vacation Days

A series of fun filled project days. Grades K and up are welcome for this exciting drop in/drop off vacation workshop. Pre school aged children may participate with a caretaker. Each day we will offer several projects in different mediums. Each 1 hour block is $10 - we do not split our hours into halves or quarters. Clay and pottery incur additional fees, parents may determine a budget for their child upon arrival.
Come for all hours or one hour, but please arrive close to the hour mark so we can time projects accordingly. We do not require registration. This is a fun a flexible program! Please arrive one hour before the end of each session. AM 9:00am - 12pm / PM 1:00pm - 4:00pm. We close from 12:00pm - 1:00pm for lunch. Later pick-ups will incur additional fees. Please note that some days have more than one medium.

Monday February 20th
AM - Clay: Sculpt, coil or spin on the wheel—a wide variety of clay options. Kids must be 8, and have some previous experience in order to use the wheel. Extra fees will be applied for Paint Your Own Pottery and/or fire-able clay. Fire-able pieces will be ready for pick up two weeks later.
PM - Paper Paper Paper!: We will work in all things paper—and its not just fro drawing or homework! We will sculpt w/ Recycled magazines, make beads, work with ‘chip board” kits and maybe even make our very own piece of paper from scratch!
Tuesday February 21st
AM - Drawing: Crayons, pencils, colored pencils, cray-pas and so much more. All types of drawing mediums and all types of projects from line and shape to concrete images. Great for all abilities.
PM - Sculpture: Become exposed to a wide range of sculpting materials. Wire, balsa foam, sculpey clay, found objects and recycled materials will be used as well as many more. Be creative in this 3-D workshop for all ages!
Wednesday February 22nd
AM - (a) Scrapbooking: make you own themed pages and collages with our big box of scrapping supplies. Embossers, hole punches, die cuts and stickers will all be available - Bring pictures!
AM - (b) Woodworking: Work on a bird house, Make a shelf—just make a fun wooden sculpture - basic tool use will be emphasized - and surface decoration and staining. Youngest kids can choose premade wooden objects to embellish.
PM - Crafting Craziness: Make a variety of craft projects from Foam to baskets, woodcrafts to glue and stick. So many things to choose from! Project will be "displayed" so kids can choose what they would like to make - its all up to YOU!
Thursday February 23rd
AM - Painting: A variety of paints will be available from tempura, acrylic and anything in between. Kids can be creative of follow a specific project plan. Painting will need to go home wet if you do not plan on coming back later in the week. Dress for a mess!

Friday February 24th
AM - (a) Jewelry Making and Beading: Learn basic stringing techniques as well as tool use for more elaborate designs. Bracelets, Necklaces, keychains and more - Gimp and Hemp will also be available
AM - (b) Planes Trains and Automobiles: Choose a vehicle to put together and decorate with paint, stain or even tissue paper! We have wooden, foam and even cars that are paper to construct and enjoy!
PM - Cartooning and Comics: Learn to draw some of your favorite characters and make up a few of your own. No background needed but if you have taken Cartooning I the past we will tweak the basics to allow you to create more complex characters of comic books.
