Pre-School Classes

Our preschool classes are interdisciplinary, incorporating science, literature, and social skills with art instruction. This pairing keeps little ones engaged in learning while introducing a variety of concepts. Parents are permitted to stay but drop off for children who are comfortable is appropriate as well. Children who are not quite three but are able to sit and create the projects may join the class if parents remain. This only applies to classes recommended for ages 3 and up. Children must be "potty" trained

Pre-School Drawing: For the more precocious pre-schooler or kindergartner. Kids will learn the very basic skills they need to 'build' a picture. We will explore putting shapes together, simple composition and design. Kids MUST be able to sit through instruction. Plenty of wiggle room will be permitted during 'drawing' time.

Preschool Painting: A fun basic introduction to painting. Learn to mix colors, how to load a brush and what different paints can do. Both step by step and creative exercises. Don't be surprised when your little one comes home talking about their new "friends" Monet, O'Keeffe and Pollack.

Kinder Krafts: There is a lot of fun to be had in this crafts for kids class. Your child will explore a variety of materials and see how they work together to create something fun! Each child will learn how to create their own ideas and share with others. See school age section for clay class for 5 to 6 year olds.

Dr. Seuss is Loose: Read a classic Seuss story: from One Fish, two Fish; to The Lorax. We will create fun, whimsical and altogether oddball projects that have something to do with our story of the day. A variety of materials both 2D and 3D will be used. Great “moral” lessons kids can relate to through Dr. Seuss unique style.

Terrible Lizards: Dinosaurs roamed the earth and left behind a story people get to discover through fossils and animals that live today. We will learn some of the “stories” like why some had long necks, sharp teeth, or feathers. What did they eat, where did they live and much more. Our projects will focus on the daily “story” facts and will incorporate a variety of materials both 2D and 3D.

Crafts Around the World: Visit a different country each week. Lean the indigenous arts and crafts of each country, their history and uses today. Mosaicing, sand art, textiles and more will be explored as we discuss places in the Middle East, Japan, Italy, and more...

Wings and Things: Look to the sky for things with wings! We will discover all the wonders of flying creatures— from bugs to birds. What they eat, where they live and what makes them what they are will be covered. Each day a craft project will reinforce our newly learned science facts!

Kindergarten Only

Creative Kindergarteners: Designed just for kindergarteners looking for an artistic outlet. Each week we’ll explore different mediums to keep creative juices flowing. Clay, crayons, paint, and fibers will keep little hands busy and growing minds busier! You must be currently enrolled in kindergarten or be home schooled to be eligible for this program.

Mini Creative Kindergarteners: This is a shorter class than regular Creative Kindergarteners.
