About the Instructors

Darci McHenry - Artist/Director/Clay and Multi Media Instructor

Darci received her B.S. in Human Development with a minor in Art History from Syracuse University. Later she attended the Masters program of Secondary Art Education at the University of Massachu- setts, Amherst. She has several years experience in art education, in private, public and home-school environments. Darci has participated in shows, sales and exhibitions of her artwork nationwide since 1986. She has also worked as a potter and designer in New England. Currently Darci is also a product developer for the Arts &Craft division of S&S Worldwide. Darci also volunteers her talents at many events and fundraisers within the region.


Alisa Mello - Assistant Director/ Instructor

Alisa holds a bachelor degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Oil Painting. She has studied at the University of Hartford Art School, and Central Connecticut State University, with plans to go on to receive her Masters degree in Art Therapy. Currently Alisa is working as an instructor as well as further developing her portfolio.


Amanda Hill - Artist /Painting and Drawing Instructor

Amanda joined our team in 2008. She is an accomplished Mural Artist and Painter. Amanda is cur- rently working towards he goal of working as an art instructor full time. She has studied at The Insti- tute of Decorative Painting in Madison CT and holds a degree from Rhode Island School of Design in Providence RI.


Lisa Arnold - Instructor

Studied at Johnson State College in Vermont where she received her BFA in studio art. She worked very close with many visiting artist from the Vermont Studio Center. She recently graduated from the Architectural College with a masters in interior design. She has taught art ACA in Arlington, Ma and is a working artist and designer.


Melissa Cataford - Off-site Enrichment Instructor

Melissa is continuing to work towards her degree in Education. She will be doing her student teaching this fall while she is with us.


Olivia (Livvie) Harper Steen - Studio Assistant / Party Host

Livvie, a GHS student is building her resume and experience here at TeachArt2Me in anticipation of pursuing Art as a career. She has experience in several mediums including Clay, Jewelry making and Crafts. Livvie joined our team in the winter of 2009.


Lauren Gionet - Studio Assistant / Party Hostess

Lauren joined our staff in the Summer of 2008. A student at GHS, Lauren has gained valuable experi- ence at TeachArt2Me and continues to be a great asset to our studio. Lauren supports the students with her talents as an artist and asst. instructor.


Nicole Gionet - Instructor

Nicole, a Fine Arts student at University of Hartford, joined the TeachArt2Me family in the spring of 2008. An accomplished Artist, Nicole has displayed her work in the Glastonbury School district calen- dar and the University of Hartford.


Sharon Mortiboys - Studio Assistant / Substitute teacher

Sharon has been with TA2Me since the fall of 2007. She has years of experience as a crafter and has worked with Girl Scouts and other children's activities.


Amanda ‘Jack’ Bliss - Studio Assistant

Jack joins us with a degree in Fine Arts from MCC with an appreciation for a variety of mediums. Her passion lies in Printmaking.


Hannah Bernard – Adjunct Instructor

Hannah is in the process of finishing her degree in Fine Arts. She brings with her a strong back- ground in Cartooning.


Jackie Campbell - Visiting Instructor

Jackie has been with us for the past 5 years. We welcome her when she is home from UCONN where she is pursuing her degree in Fine Art. She has taught and painted professionally for several years.


Jen Rohrig - Web Designer

Jen, a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, joined the team in the winter of 2009 and has been working hard to update the TeachArt2Me web site.
